Advertising in cannabis through Flowertown's influencer network

OVERVIEW

The Flowertown influencer network provides a unique way for cannabis brands to reach targeted, general market consumers without the risk of “weed purges.” Using the Flowertown platform as a bridge allows influencers to promote brands to a specific audience without the worry of losing their account.

CHALLENGE

Advertising in cannabis

Traditional media buys are under heavy regulation, and social media advertising puts brands at risk. In order to solve this issue for the cannabis industry, we created an Influencer Network that could reach new consumers, without putting brands or influencers at risk. Using the Flowertown platform as a way for consumers to learn more about products, brands can advertise worry free.


 

THE PROCESS

How do brands safely advertise and increase conversions?

SOLUTION

As a non-transactional third party, Flowertown connects brands with influencers through educational content.

By acting as a third party educational resource we were able to provide influencer ad buys for cannabis brands. Influencers were not at risk because the content was directed to flowertown.com. We were able to grow brands through social media where it was previously thought not possible to do so. 

I was the lead UI/UX developer and Front-End developer on the team. I designed mobile first interactive pages for influencers to use on instagram. The interactive pages were viewed through instagram's browser by using the "swipe-up" function on instagram stories.
